NIIT extends ‘The Turning Point Scholarship’

Bangalore: NIIT Limited has extended the last date of ‘The Turning Point Scholarship 2012’ to September 30, 2012 for the new GNIIT programme and Express Diploma programmes, due to overwhelming response from students. August saw a rush for scholarship admissions for the GNIIT and Express Diploma programmes coupled with delayed college start dates in several states which led to students requesting for an extension of the deadline. The Turning Point Scholarships have been introduced with an aim to recognize and reward meritorious students with scholarships to help them achieve their dream career options in IT industry.

Given the heightened interest shown by the students, and to provide additional time for a considered decision, NIIT has decided to extend the dates for the Turning Point Scholarship 2012. The scholarship application forms are available at NIIT education centres across the country. The last date for submission of application form is 30th September 2012. Further, this is a chance for students to enroll for GNIIT admissions, the flagship career program from NIIT, which closes on September 30, 2012 for this academic year. Over last 21 years, more than 4.8 lakh students have benefited from NIIT’s Scholarship Programmes. The NIIT Turning Point Scholarship is the latest such initiative towards enhancing employability of meritorious students and making them job ready to meet the industry needs. The scholarship is aimed at facilitating meritorious college students and fresh graduates who want to prepare themselves for a successful IT career by enrolling for new GNIIT and Express Diploma programmes.

Speaking on the reason for extending The Turning Point Scholarship, Mr. Amitabh Lahiri, Chief Business Officer, Career Building Solutions, NIIT said, “NIIT has always believed in making cutting-edge professional courses available to meritorious students. Gauging the overwhelming response generated during the launch of the Turning Point scholarship in August, and the requests from students and their parents, we have decided to extend the last date to September 30th, to enable more students to avail of this opportunity for meeting their career aspirations.”
