				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Akash Raju of Karnataka and Ashita Khandelwal of MP stole the limelight at the CBSE National Roller Skating Championship 2013, winning gold medals in the boys and girls Under-19 category of 5000mts road race at the Ameya Classic International Roller Sports Centre, Virar on Saturday.</p>
<p>Held over 12 laps of the 425mt synthetic track, skaters are awarded points in each lap according to their finish position and those with the maximum points are declared winners.</p>
<p>Gurgaon&#8217;s Yogesh Pawar and Yuthika Khatri won silver medals &#038; Chandigarh&#8217;s Shubham Agrawal and Karnataka Aarohi Bhide won bronze medals.<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Rink Race Time Trial takes off amid enthusiastic audience support on day one. The event Rink Race time trial (Speed category-300mt) took off with the participants (boys and girls) of the age group 6-8 years, 8-10 years, 10-12 years, 12-14 years, 14-16 years and 16-19 years from all five zones participating in the event respectively. As the wheels rolled, the audience that turned up in impressive numbers encouraged the participants enthusiastically.</p>
<p>The Rink Race event ended with a prize distribution ceremony where the following winners were felicitated by director of Ameya Sports Club. Ms Grishma Patil ( age group 6-8years and 8-10years ), India’s fastest skater and national record holder Mr Nikhilesh Tabhane (age group 10-12years and 12-14years) and General secretary of Mumbai Suburb and Vasai Virar Association(age group 14-16 years and 16-19 years).</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The first week of the IMG Reliance School League saw some lop sided games as well  as close games but the boys from St. Joseph – Wadala, Fr. Agnel’s – Navi Mumbai and the girls from Vidyaniketan – Dombivili showed that they are a class apart.</p>
<p>St. Joseph’s boys team displayed great skills to beat Shishuvan school in both their home and away fixture by huge margins. They beat Shishuvan School 41-18 in their away game and at home they beat Shishuvan School, 42-26. St. Joseph also had an easy outing against Smt. Suluchanadevi Singhania School – Thane. They beat Singhania by a margin of 12 points thus topping the group with three straight wins. In all their games Smit Shinde and Mayank were the heroes for St. Joseph’s. In their last game against Shishuvan at home, Smit scored 18 of their 19 first quarter points. He scored a game high 27 points.</p>
<p>In the other pool, Fr. Agnel’s – Vashi boys team looks like the team to beat. With the addition of players from their Jr. College, the team looks like a very formidable side. They beat Dominic Savio 56-12. In their second encounter playing at home, the lads from Navi Mumbai beat Don Bosco – Matunga 46-20  Forward Vaishakh has been their golden performer so far notching 15 points against Don Bosco – Matunga.</p>
<p>In the girls section, Vidyaniketan from Dombivili has been the team to watch out for. They beat IES V N Sule – Dadar, Fr. Agnel’s – Navi Mumbai and St. Paul’s in their 3 encounters so far. Sakshi Kotian and Rutvi Lotlikar have been their star performers.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Muljibhai Mehta International School, Virar is hosting a grand event, The CBSE NATIONAL ROLLER SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP 2013-14, from 6th December to 9th December 2013. Over 500 top skaters from all over India are participating in this event. This is for the first time that Maharashtra has the honor of hosting such a mega event organized by Muljibhai Mehta International School (MMIS). CBSE schools from across the world will participate in this competition.</p>
<p>The CBSE National Roller Skating Competition will be held on India’s first and only synthetic coated 200-meter bank track and 425-meter circuit road built according to the latest international design at Ameya Classic Sports Club’s International Standard Roller Sports Center in Virar. Scholastic activities in the school develop the brain and mind of students.  Co-scholastic activities help students to develop a healthy body in addition to healthy mind.  It helps to inculcate discipline, competitive spirit, self confidence and the will to win.</p>
<p>The championship will be held in two categories – quad and inline. More than 80 races will be held in the form of Time trial race, Rink race and Road race. The races will be held separately for boys and girls of different age groups. The event would commence with the flag-off ceremony at 9.00 AM on 6th December 2013 at Ameya International Roller Skating Track, Yashwant Nagar, Virar.   </p>
<p>The other events will be held on 7th December and the Heats and Finals will be held on 9th December 2013 followed by prize distribution at 1:00 PM.</p>
<p>MMIS is situated in the heart of the city and provides its students a system that has a perfect blend of modern techniques and technologies with traditional values that facilitate towards the enhancement of their physical, mental, social and spiritual values.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mumbai is among the eight cities in which the BFI, in collaboration with IMG Reliance and State Basketball Associations organizing the 2013-2014 BFI-IMG Reliance School League to help develop and promote an organized structure of basketball in schools. The school winners from each of the states will participate in the National Champions Cup to be held in April/May, 2014 in New Delhi.</p>
<p>The Mumbai edition of the IMG-Reliance School league began on November 30th, 2013 and is organized by Elevate India Sports in association with the Maharashtra State Basketball Association.</p>
<p>The leagues comprises of 20 of the top basketball playing schools per city (10 boys &#038; 10 girls). Each team will play a total of 8 games over a period of 1 month and a total of 64 games will be played during the group stage, which will be followed with a knockout tournament to crown the Mumbai City Champion.  Games will be held at rotating locations in different schools &#038; colleges to provide all institutions the opportunity to host the league. The Knock Out phase will be held from December 16th onwards.</p>
<p>As part of the 2013-14 School League, BFI and IMG Reliance have put aside money for each participating School for minor refurbishments of their home courts.  These refurbishments include new nets, rims, paintings, basketballs, etc.  With the help of the State Basketball Association, BFI and IMG Reliance hopes this initiative will incentivize schools to invest in basketball. </p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Coca-Cola India unveiled the highlights of the 3rd season of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Under-16 Cricket Tournament, the country’s largest Inter-School Cricket Championship, in partnership with Procam International. This school cricket tournament will be played in 70 districts in 10 states, under the aegis of the respective State Cricket Associations.</p>
<p>The 3rd season was announced by Debabrata Mukherjee, Vice President – Coca-Cola India and South West Asia, along with Vivek B Singh, Jt. Managing Director, Procam International, Saba Karim, Chief Mentor &#038; Former International Cricketer, Prof. Ratnakar Shetty and others</p>
<p>The occasion was also used to introduce to the media the three Coca-Cola Cricket Stars – Shivam Chauhan (Delhi), Vikas Dixit (Delhi) and Pranjul Puri (Indore), the most talented of the players from the second season, who spent a fruitful four weeks training under former Somerset cricketer Thomas ‘Tom’ Webley at the famous Merchant Taylors&#8217; School in Northwood, Hertfordshire.</p>
<p>This trip to UK was the first step in the mentoring and development of the three players as part of the commitment on behalf of Coca-Cola India and Procam International. The three players were in the UK from June 9 to July 5, 2013, training and playing matches almost every alternate day.</p>
<p>The Coca-Cola Cricket Cup is an Inter-school grass root level cricket initiative to discover budding cricketing talent in the country. The program is open to all young cricketers in the age group of 12-16 years. The tournament will be played across 10 states in over 70 districts involving more than 12,500 young players from more than 850 schools.</p>
<p>Winners of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, while the runners-up would get Rs. 70,000/-. 24 talented players selected from the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup &#8211; Inter-State Challenge will get a chance to attend a week long ‘Coaching Clinic’ under the guidance of Cricket India Academy. Post the week long coaching, the final Coca-Cola India team will be selected and given an opportunity to prove their mettle by participating in a competitive tournament against an invited International U-16 team from other cricket playing nations</p>
<p>The winning schools at each stage of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup stand to win significant prize money. The total purse for this tournament amounts to INR 10 lakh, besides awards and gifts as gratification. While all the teams reaching the pre-quarter-finals stage of the Intra-State championship will be presented with T-shirts and caps, the members of the teams that make the semi-finals will be presented with cricket kitbags. There will also be man of the match awards for each match from the pre-quarter-final stage onwards.</p>

<p>Over 1300 students from ICSE schools across Tamil Nadu will take part in the championship which was inaugurated on the 19th of September &#8217;13 and is on till the 30th of September at Stanes School, Coimbatore. Students from all parts of Tamil Nadu will compete in eight sporting disciplines namely &#8211; Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Athletics, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Hockey and Swimming &#8211; with the talented youngsters being adopted into a long term training program with an aim to prepare them for the 2018 Youth Olympics and other international events.</p>
<p>RESPECT 2013 brings students from across 11 regions in India to participate in a sporting extravaganza which will entail championships across eight sports events. SportsMentor, an organisation pioneering in providing scientific Sports Education programs for school children in India has tied up with the Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate (ASISC) for a five year period and the first edition of the Games with the national finals to be held in eight locations in November 2013.</p>

Drishti has agreed to provide all assistance and safety services.   </p>
<p>The ninth Introduction to Kayaking &#038; Training Program 2013 will take off from Vasco (Hollant Beach) from April 1-4, 2013 while the Panaji program will kick off at Vainguinim beach from April 5-8, 2013. Both programs are open to adults and children above eight years who can swim.<br />

Goa Kayaking has been conducting these training programs since 2009 during the summer and Diwali holidays. So far it has undertaken eight such programs. They are conducted by highly experienced water sports professionals and accredited water sports instructors.</p>
<p>Those completing the program will be entitled to a free membership at the Goa Kayaking Club for a year and can sign up for their numerous kayaking expeditions conducted every weekend and public holidays throughout the year. Those who join the program will be provided with all equipment, flotation devices, kayaks, and paddles along with instruction sessions from experts.</p>

Ltd., India’s premier Co-curricular Education Company organised the finals of the LeapStart Cricket League 2012-13, an Inter-School Inter-State Cricket tournament at the PESSE Cricket Ground, in Bangalore today. Delhi Public School, South (Bangalore) was declared the winner of LeapStart Cricket League 2012 &#038; was awarded with a Rotary Trophy &#038; a gift voucher by the Chief Guest at the event, Mr. Abhimanyu Mithun, an Indian International Cricketer.</p>
<p>The LeapStart Cricket League 2012-13 was held in four cities &#8211; Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi. The League kicked off in December 2012 with 20 teams participating in a league cum knock out format. The students participating in the tournament were between 14 to 16 years of age. The winners of the regional tournaments, The Velammal International School, Chennai, Delhi Public School &#8211; South, Bangalore and Global Public School, Kochi participated in the finals held in Bangalore. LeapStart Cricket League 2012-13 is a stepping stone for every budding cricketer.<br />

Speaking on the occasion Dev Roy, Founder and Managing Director of FitKids Education and Training Pvt. Ltd said “We are very happy to see the enthusiasm of the participating schools in our first national cricket tournament. The idea was to give the kids a platform to showcase their talent and put their skills to test against teams from not just their home cities but also from other states. At Fitkids, it is our constant endeavour to help kids stay physically active, and develop not just competitively but also socially through LeapStart, our Sports &#038; Physical Education Program”</p>
<p>LeapStart provides a fabulous platform and exposure to the students to showcase their talent and to move a step forward towards realising their dream of becoming a sportsman. It offers them a great opportunity to realise their potential, hone their skills and also to learn from the best teams from different states.</p>
