The Government had already sent the proposal to MCI (Medical Council of India) on that request the MCI team visited the capital to explore the possibilities of opening the medical college. The MCI team consist of MCI inspector Dr Ramprakash, Dr Shergill and Dr Vinita Jain visited the Doon Hospital on Wednesday 9th December 2009 to inspect the present infrastructure of the hospital.

The Higher Education Secretary Dr Rakesh Kumar, Director of Doon Hospital, Women Hospital and Coronation Hospital, and CMS Dr R K Pant provide all the details to the MCI team. The MCI team also inspected the Coronation Hospital, Gandhi Shatabdi Hospital and the land of old Jail at haridwar Road Dehradun.

After inspecting all the places they found that the infrastracture are satisfying the norm of minimum 25 Acres land for a Medical College by MCI.

The documents were signed by Z.A. Asif, General Manager, HAL and Prof Prabhat Munshi, Dean Resources and Alumni IIT, Kanpur in presence of Gukul Chandra Pati, Secretary (Defence Production). As per the MoU, HAL and IIT, Kanpur, will hold annual conference jointly and serve as a platform to the defence industries and encourage new ideas, innovations and new technologies in aviation sector.

Pati hailed coming together of HAL and IIT (K) and said such collaborations enrich industries resulting in key results in R&D which is crucial to self-reliance in defence sector.

“The MoU will facilitate development of training programs and training modules for capacity building of HAL personnel. We welcome the contribution of IIT faculty and students who can play their role in
breaching the technology gap”, Dr. Tyagi added.

Prof Indranil Manna, Director IITK said the institute will appoint a distinguished academician as a Professor to the HAL Chair. “We are proud to be associated with HAL and the relationship has distinct
relevance”, he added. An Advisory Committee of HAL and IIT (K) representatives will oversee the functioning of HAL Chair and periodically review the functioning. HAL had signed a similar MoU with
IIT, Roorkee recently.

In the recent past HAL signed MoUs with IIT, Madras to undertake joint research in the field of transmission system for the helicopter and engine programs and with IISc, Bangalore for development of
micro UAV and development of active control and health monitoring techniques by application of smart materials to helicopter dynamic system and with NAL, Bangalore for design and development of aircraft
structures, mechanical systems, aerodynamics, avionics, aerospace materials, composites, system Engineering, UAVs etc. A few years ago, HAL had signed a separate MoU with IIT, Kanpur for development of computational aero elasticity code for helicopter loads.

The MoU was signed today in Delhi in the presence of V.K. Gupta, DG, CPWD and Dr. Prafulla Agnihotri, Director, IIM, Trichy.

The permanent campus will come up in 68 hectares site which has been allotted by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The campus which will accommodate 1500 students and 300 faculty and staff members would be fully self-sufficient for its residents and shall comprise of academic facilities, world class hostels for the students, residences for the faculty and staff, recreational facilities and a well-equipped Management Development Centre for the students and faculty.

The master planning and designing of the campus has been entrusted to a firm of leading architects. The construction of this approx Rs. 450 crore project will begin during March-April 2014 and is expected to be completed by March 2016. IIM Trichy aims to have a green campus and would be self-sufficient in terms of its water requirements in 5-7 years of its operations.

IIM Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy) is the eleventh IIM which began its activities in 2011.

Under the joint INMAS-DTU program the following academic, applied research and biomedical product development programs will be conducted from time to time or as per requirement.

The MoU is aimed at fostering the interactions between INMAS and DTU in the areas of mutual interest to enhance the value of research and training at both places by undertaking collaborative research projects and enhancing the quality of human resource by imparting training.

This collaboration will be implemented in a manner that supplement the resources of both the institutions to facilitate research and training in areas of mutual interest.

There will be exchange of Scientists/Faculty and students between the participating institutions. The two Institutions may conduct joint projects including courses and training as per mutual interest.

Research Students working at the Life Sciences labs of DRDO may register for Ph.D. degree to be awarded by DTU under joint supervision. Bye-laws of DTU governing the admission and award of Ph.D. degree will apply.
Ph.D. students working at the DTU will be able to carry out a part of their work at INMAS, and if needed an INMAS scientist may be a co-guide.

This new leadership group of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative will work on planning and implementing the framework of responsible management and leadership education.

The representatives of PRME Champion institutions, who convened at a special event of the Global Compact Leaders Summit 2013, made commitments to work collaboratively to develop and promote activities that address shared barriers to making responsible management education a reality.
