Bangalore: two NIIT group companies and Autodesk Inc have announced courses for design. NIIT and NIIT University will leverage design tools of Autodesk to offer a host of design programs. NllT University will set up a design lab and launch masters programs in design to support research and innovation. In addition, various specialized design programs will be launched for college students in verticals such as interface design, application design and media & entertainment design with an aim to create a pool of skilled manpower for these specific industries. For school students, NIlT will introduce design literacy programs to promote design thinking.

NllT along with Autodesk and a specially constituted Design Advisory Council, set up under the aegis of NIIT University, will be designing the curriculum.

“Just as IT helped India gain global recognition and spurred the growth of the service sector, about a decade ago, “Design Thinking” can be the differentiator that changes the economics of Indian workers and businesses and catalyzes the growth of the knowledge sector,” say’s the NIIT release.

“While the overall objective of this partnership is to promote design thinking in every job role, the programs will also develop skilled manpower for the rapidly growing Computer-aided Design (CAD) industry, which is estimated to grow at CAGR of 13.5 percent by 2015, per a recent report by Technavio,” says George Abraham, Director of Emerging Markets, Autodesk Education.

There are many such young talents like him who make India proud and I am confident that they will script greater success stories in the years to come.”

Bangalore: NIIT Limited, has unveiled ‘The Turning Point’ GNIIT program based on an all-new cloud-centric curriculum. The campaign features NIIT alumni whose lives have changed significantly after successful completion of the industry-endorsed GNIIT program. As a flagship career program of NIIT.

Earlier this year, NIIT had created the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), wherein industry leaders shared their inputs on how GNIIT could be further improved, to help students become future-ready and find suitable placement in the evolving IT industry. The new GNIIT program maximizes career opportunities by offering programs that lead to exit profiles in diverse fields of IT like – Cloud Applications Developer, Enterprise Application Developer, Business Intelligence Solutions Developer, Server Administrator and Network Administrator.

The NIIT’s Cloud Learning Methodology supports group learning through interactive features like 24×7 lab and e-library access, instant tech updates, interaction with faculty and peers and access to online video streams.

The program gives students the benefit of a dual qualification, as this program can be pursued along with graduation. GNIIT is a Credit based Curriculum, designed to offer flexibility to students in learning. In other words, the students will have the flexibility to choose courses as per their interest and career goals.

Apart from technical skills a successful IT professional also needs to have the right attitude, communication skills, work ethics and a host of other personal attributes that play a crucial role in his/her career. GNIIT program also helps with professional practice of a year-long internship. This one year of internship gives exposure to ‘live’ case studies and a stipend that lets them earn-while-they-learn.
